TONY CAREY'S RAINBOW PROJECT: THE DIO YEARS
To mark the 40th anniversary of Rainbows legendary album "Rising" from 1976, Tony Carey,
the bands keyboardist at the time, has joined one of Norways premier vocalists, Åge Sten Nilsen,
to celebrate Rainbows fantastic music. This evening at Lavvotunet the band will focus on the period 1975-1977,
and tracks like "Tarot Woman", "Run With The Wolf", "Stargazer" and "Man On The Silver Mountain"
is guaranteed to be heard. To this day the album "Rising" is still considered
one of the best heavy metal albums of all times, and Åge Sten Nilsen will really
face a major task to fill the shoes of Ronnie James Dio this evening. Join us and
find out!
For å markere 40-årsjubileet av Rainbows legendariske album "Rising" som kom i 1976,
har Tony Carey, bandets keyboardist på den tiden, gått sammen med en av Norges aller fremste
vokalister, Åge Sten Nilsen, for å feire Rainbows fantastiske musikk. På Lavvotunet denne
kvelden kommer bandet til å fokusere på perioden 1975-1977, og låter som "Tarot Woman",
"Run With The Wolf", "Stargazer" og "Man On The Silver Mountain" blir garantert å høre
denne kvelden. Den dag i dag regnes fortsatt albumet "Rising" som et av de aller,
aller beste tungrockalbumene gjennom tidene, og Åge Sten Nilsen har virkelig tatt
på seg en stor oppgave da han skal fylle fantastiske Ronnie James Dios sko for en

CHRIS THOMPSON w/MADS ERIKSEN BAND
Chris Thompson is of course best known as vocalist of Manfred Mann's Earth Band
from its startup in 1976 to 1985. After a few years outside the band, he again joined in 1996
before finally leaving in 2004. All that time he also had a separate solo career running in
parallel. In addition he has cooperated with as varied artists as Alan Parsons,
Gary Moore, Bonnie Tyler and he is well known for "You're The Voice", John Farnhams
1986 success hit from the album "Whispering Jack". The later years he
has been working with the Norwegian guitarist Mads Eriksen, and it is his band backing
Chris Thompson this evening. Expect classics hits like "Blinded By The Light",
"Mighty Quinn", "Don't Kill It Carol", "You're The Voice" og "Davy's On The Road Again".
Chris Thompson er selvfølgelig aller best kjent som vokalist i Manfred Mann's Earth
Band fra starten i 1976 til 1986. Etter noen år utenfor bandet, ble han igjen med
i 1996 før han igjen takket for seg i 2004. Han har hele tiden hatt en solokarriere
gående parallelt med denne. I tillegg har han samarbeidet med så vidt forskjellige
artister som Alan Parsons, Gary Moore, Bonnie Tyler og ikke minst er han kjent for låta
"You're The Voice" som John Farnham hadde fantastisk suksess med i 1986 på albumet
